Differences

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN
WATER SOFTENING AND WATER TREATMENT?

We get the question all the time “If I have a water softener why do I need a water filter too?”  The answer to that is; water softeners deal with the calcium and magnesium that is in your water but do nothing at all for other water problems.  If you are on a well you may have many different problems that should be corrected, such as; Iron, hydrogen sulfide, pesticides, herbicides, bacteria, sediment or a legion of other problems that can be harmful to you and your family.  For these problems you need the proper filtration system to remove these prior to the softening process.  If you are on city water in most cases your largest contaminate is chlorine and its by products and possibly herbicides and pesticides.  For these the most efficient method of removal  is with the use of an activated carbon filter system such as the ones sold by Natursorb

These activated carbon filters are sized according to your needs based on gallons per minutex of flow (gpm) and number of bathrooms in your home.  With an activated carbon filter you will eliminate the taste and odor of the chlorine in your water, eliminate pesticides, herbicides, VOCs, SOCs, and hundreds of other minor contaminates. You will have less dry skin and hair and can completely eliminate bottled water in your home.

With a whole house water filtration system you get great water from every faucet in your home. When you put it in front of a whole house softener you have the best water you can get anywhere.Whether or not you choose to install a softener, and no matter which one you choose to install, a whole house filtration system is very important.  Many studies have shown that chlorine (a pesticide) may well be harmful to a persons health.  There are many ways to remove chlorine from your drinking water. A whole house activated carbon filter is the least expensive and gives the best overall protection.
